This past Monday, my mom went in for major surgery (total hysterectomy plus part of her colon and bladder removed due to cancer). Since we live a good 600 miles from my parents and have a little one, we aren’t able to just swing over for a visit! However, we do plan on going down once she gets out of the hospital to help out around the house. Anyway, yesterday was the first time she was able to sit up after her surgery (you try it with staples in your belly!) so we decided to have some fun and hopefully lift her spirits in the process. 
We kindof did this on a whim but it was a fun little project! And, most importantly, it hopefully brought a smile to her face.

If you’re interested, here’s how we setup the lighting for these shots. If I had more room, I would have loved to put more distance between Zoe and the wall but in our small house, that really isn’t an option!
